History of Seoul Office -
The 1st foreign consulting firm in Korea.
McKinsey first entered Korea inthe late 1980's and set up an office in 1991. Before then, operations were run in the Tokyo office. When the Seoul office was first opened, consultants were largely composed of Japanese, but gradually it began to grow and became dependant from the Tokyo Office in 1995.

-Built its reputation through the "McKinsey Seoul Report" which is published with the Maeil Busines Newspaper.
-Also, held McKinsey Global Leadership Forums.
-"McKinsey's post-crisis report" became a best-seller in Korea.
-Currently 150 employees are employed at McKinsey, with about 90 consultants.

Korea Needs to React Swiftly, Flexibly to Changes
South Korea and its government need to be flexible and react quickly to external changes in order to survive the global competition in this world. The ex-director of McKinsey's Company Seoul Office, Stephen Bear said.
Korea is under pressure from China and Japan. The biggest problem in Korea is not that it is receiving this pressure from them, but that nothing is being done to solve this problem.
